Episode 18: We’re Legal!
By: Ian Rose | April 8th, 2008That’s right. Our little podcast turns 18 today. We can vote, we can go to war, and in several of the more enlightened countries of the world, we can even buy beer. A certain internet access company, who shall remain nameless lest they sue us into at least the Bronze Age, tried to rain on our parade by keeping one of our podcasters from having their say this week, but we’ll have none of that. I’m joined by Anne Ramzy of ESPN SoccerNet and Christian Reyes of River Plate and Argentina blogging fame, to talk about the Champions League, the Copa Libertadores, and, since spring has sprung, it’s time to start talking about the MLS.
We also announce the four winners in last weekend’s prediction contest, and nearly pull a muscle patting ourselves on the back that they aren’t all American.
Starting this week, we have a new way to keep in touch with listeners and other interested parties. As a crusty old professor of mine might have put it, we’re “on the Facebook pages!” If you want to be our friend, check us out there. As always, you can listen below, or visit our feed to subscribe. You can also find us on iTunes. Thanks again for listening, and stay tuned for more contests, soon to come.

Ian,
How many people do you have to pay to say you are funny? geez.
And it should be known that Marc (the guy who won the backpack) is actually from Barcelona, but he’s just saying at my apartment in the states for the time being.
So we are even more global than we think.

-

It’s not that I paid that one … I just deleted the seventeen comments that said I was rubbish. I kid. Yeah, our prize winners were from Portugal, Barcelona, California and Indiana. That is maybe the best thing ever. Next stop, Asia.

Best thing ever? Me being on the podcast.
MLS REPRESENT! (throwing up my EAST SIDE fingers . . . )

-

Compared to Europe, wouldn’t the MLS be West side? … Anyway, I don’t want to start an East-West thing on the podcast, or someone’s liable to get capped.

-

Damn – and I was about to roll in my deuce deuce and pop caps like LAPD!
Eastside of the US, Westside of the pond, REPRESENT!
