The Total Football Show – Episode 1: “Real Recognize Real”

Sadly, this is not the return of The Offside Podcast.

But it is the start of something new: a public radio football/soccer talk show, co-hosted by two Offside writers.

Taylor Rockwell (from Man Utd Offside) and myself somehow persuaded the good people at Richmond Independent Radio that we could put together a show covering local, national and international soccer.

The Total Football Show is broadcast every Thursday at 12:30pm Eastern Time (US), but is also available as a podcast which we’ll share here on Podcast Offside.

The first episode was broadcast August 6th and is available to listen below. It’s very US national team centric (which won’t always be the case) looking back at the Confederations Cup, Landon Donovan’s possibly onanistic goal celebration, and Oguchi Onyewu’s move to Milan and looking ahead to this week’s big game in Mexico City. We also interview Richmond Kickers head coach Leigh Cowlishaw, list our Top 5 Most Successful Americans Abroad and close with the inaugural (fiercely contested) spelling bee.
