The Total Football Soccer Show – Episode 5: “Turbulence in Iran”
By: Taylor Rockwell | September 10th, 2009
Again, apologies for the belated posting. We should be back on schedule now. Daryl was out of town for this one, and left poor Taylor all alone to deal with a week of interesting issues. Several (former) members of the Iranian national soccer team showed their displeasure with the country’s recent elections by wearing green armbands. Well now those players are “retired” and the situation is a bit murky. Amin Vafa got on the phone with us to discuss the situation.
Plus, the Richmond Kickers brought the USL-2 Title back to Richmond, and they bested the Charlotte Eagles 3-1 in front of an enthusiastic Richmond crowd. We caught up with some of the team shortly before the celebrations commenced.
And, lastly, not wanting to leave you all missing his sweet, Brummy accent, Daryl took time to record another brilliant TOP 5. This week, it’s our All-Time Top 5 favorite players!
